Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Citizens of Banjarmasin were happy when rain flushing the South Kalimantan capital Saturday afternoon.


"Thank God it rained, so we can get the water," said Mama Surya and Musiatin family, who lived on the outskirts of the city on Saturday.

The reason, said Mama Surya, taps water from government owned PDAM Bandarmasih is not normal. While the river water even is salty, so it is not good, either for bathing or for consumption.

"But with the rain, even if only briefly, we can hold water for bathing, washing, and toilet (MCK)," added Musiatin family.

As for cooking and drinking, they still expect from taps water, even this is sometimes jammed. "Even if tap water not running, we can still buy, if supplies run out," she said.

Heavy rain about 30 minutes also eliminate smog for several days encased the "city of a thousand rivers" Banjarmasin.

In addition, rain watering street dust or that attached to the park, so it looks green again because nothing else is covered.

The city residents hope the dry season coming to an end, so that the river is no longer salty and taps back to the maximum service to meet the needs of clean water.
