Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Aqua Terra  satellites or Modis has identified 26 hotspots spread across a number of areas in Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, a local official said.


Head of the Tanah Bumbu Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Mariani in Batulicin on Friday said it did not know the exact location of hotspots detected by the Modis. "It is estimated that the majority of hotspots come from burned agricultural areas and shrubs," she said.

Mariani claimed not yet conduct an inventory of acreage burned, but she estimated the burnt area owned by citizens in order to clear the land.

To anticipate undesired things, Tanah Bumbu BPBDs cooperate with Agni Mangala, District Military Command, and a number of other relevant agencies built three post.

"Three post was built in Batulicin, Pagatan, and Satui," said Mariani.

Meanwhile, based on information from the Data Center report on Friday Modis identified 69 hotspots found in South Kalimantan spread across several districts and cities.

In Banjarbaru found three hotspots, Banjar four hotspots, Tanah Laut 11 hotspots, Kotabaru eight hotspots, and Tanah Bumbu found 26 hotspots.

In Barito Kuala found eight hotspots, South Hulu Sungai two hotspots, North Hulu Sungai four hotspots, and Tabalong three hotspots.
