Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalimantan) - The Kotabaru Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) identified 11 hotspots in the district which nicknamed "Earth Saijaan".


Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency Irian Noor through the Disaster Management Section Head Sugeng here on Tuesday said, the 11 hotspots identified by aqua terra satellite update 21 September by South Kalimantan BPBDs.

"In general in South Kalimantan found 88 hotspots spread across eight districts from 13 districts and cities," he explained.

In Banjar found 20 hotspots, Tanah Laut eight hotspots, Kotabaru 11 hotspots, Tanah Bumbu 15 hotspots, Batola 23 hotspots, Tapin six hotspots, South Hulu Sungai one hotspot, and Tabalong four hotspots.

Earlier, Irian Noor said that fire almost every day in the border region of Kotabaru, like Sungai Durian, Sengayam and surrounding.

Smoke in the border area as at Sungai Durian and surrounding is a shipment from neighboring districts in East Kalimantan.

"Even if there is smoke from burning peat, as well as submissions from outside Kotabaru, because in our area there is no peat," he said.

Kotabaru safe, even free of smog, because there is no peat fires, only occasionally land or forest fires.

The smoke of forest fires, Irian went on, can quickly disappear in the not too distant future when they are extinguished. In contrast to the smoke from burning peatlands that are difficult to extinguish.
