Tanah Laut Regent HM Sukamta urged all stakeholders and elements of society to be prepared to anticipate disaster.
These include taking preventive measures to minimize damage and victims, evacuation and providing emergency assistance, rehabilitation, and reconstruction efforts to the damaged infrastructures.
"To anticipate flood disasters, tornado, landslides, and tidal flood in Tanah Laut, more intensive coordination and concrete steps are needed from all stakeholders, including the government, TNI, Polri, and the entire community," said the Regent at the disaster emergency preparedness ceremony in Pelaihari, Wednesday (8/12)..
Sukamta expected all levels of society to actively participate and contribute in disaster mitigation.
"The main key is consolidation, the cohesiveness of all of us, both the government and all elements of society," he said.
The preparedness ceremony was ended by checking the readiness of completeness of troops and disaster evacuation equipment by the Regent of Tanah Laut HM Sukamta.
Also attending the event were the elements of the Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), Regional Secretary H Dahnial Kifli, and heads of the government working units.
