South Kalimantan Regional Secretary Roy Rizali Anwar said that the provincial government will soon review the impact of flooding that occurred in the Central Hulu Sungai (HST) District a few days ago.
"Until now I have not yet received the report about the flood in HST," said Roy, who was a former Head of South Kalimantan Public Works and Spatial (PUPR) Agency, after attending the legislative council (DPRD) plenary meeting, Thursday.
"If there are rights that should be followed up, we will do, especially regarding the authority of the provincial government," he said.
He hoped that the current flood in HST did not cause a severe impact as it was in the major flood disaster the last January.
"We know that floods occur (almost) everywhere, not only in Bumi Murakata (HST's nickname) as a result of extreme weather or the influence of La Nina," he said.

"Therefore, we must remain vigilant, not only against floods but other disasters so as not to pose a big risk," Roy Rizali Anwar pointed out.
Meanwhile, South Kalimantan's Antaranews photojournalist Bayu, who was monitoring the impact of flooding in the interior of Meratus Mountains in HST, reported that due to the flood a few days ago a suspension bridge in Alat Village, Hantakan Sub-district was swept away.
It was a suspension bridge that was badly damaged during the flood last January, then repaired by volunteers, but the latest flood caused it to be swept away.
