Chairman of South Kalimantan's Indonesian Sport Climbing Federation (FPTI) HM Rosehan, NB, SH believes that his athletes to collect more medals at the XV National Climbing Championship in Banda Aceh City, Aceh, held from 18 to 25 of November 2021.

"For now we have won two gold and two bronze at the Age Group of the XV FPTI Championship 2021, I believe we eventually will win more medals," he said as he answered Antaranews Kalsel via Whatsapp, Saturday, November 20, 2021.

South Kalimantan, he said, sent 15 of its wall climbing athletes to the Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD). They were each two from Barito Kuala (Batola) District, Banjarbaru City, Banjar District, North Hulu Sungai (HSU) District, and Tabalong District.

Three from Tapin District, and each one from Tanah Laut (Tala) District and South Hulu Sungai (HSS) District.

"Hopefully they make maximum achievements because they had gone through a selection in the Provincial Age Group Wall Climbing Championship in Tanah Laut last October,” said the former vice governor of the 2005-2010 period.

So far, Zaskia Al Zahra from Tabalong and Siti Nor Hemdi Salamah Syahputri from Tapin had won gold medals. Zaskia won in women's Youth C, while Siti won in women's Youth D.

Meanwhile, Noor Arsyada from Banjar District won a bronze medal in the speed world record (WR) category in women's Youth B and Muhammad Firdan Ardhika from Tapin won in the speed WR category in men's Youth A.

"South Kalimantan that has a population of more than 4 million spread in 13 districts and cities has actually potential wall climbing athletes. We need to provide coaching and improving achievements," he said while expressing his gratitude for the athletes' contribution.
