Banjar Regent Saidi Mansyur hopes that the 2021 Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Support Services (YESS) program will be able to reduce the unemployment rate in the district.
The statistic data shows the open unemployment in Banjar District in 2019 reached 2.98 percent, and continued to increase after the non-natural disaster of the COVID-19 pandemic to 3.87 percent in 2020, and 3.98 percent in 2021.
Saidi Mansyur revealed this when opening the District Multi-Stakeholder Forum (DMSF) meeting for Youth Entrepreneurship and Employment Support Services (YESS) program for Banjar District in 2021 at Mahligai Sultan Adam, Thursday.
This condition, according to him, is a common challenge and homework to collaborate and work together to reduce unemployment in the natural resource-rich district.
To reduce the joblessness, he said, the district creates jobs and entrepreneurship in the leading sectors of the region, including agriculture, fisheries, small industry, micro-business, and other types of leading business.
He added that Banjar District prepares 15,000 job training based on regional superior sectors, creative industry, and digital industry.
