Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A total of 1,226 inmates of drug users in South Kalimantan take part in integrated assessment of drugs level addiction.

"The inmates who follow the assessment will be handled by an integrated assessment team," said Head Division of Corrections South Kalimantan Laws and Human Rights Ministry Office Harun Sulianto in Banjarmasin Wednesday.

Results of the assessment will determine whether the inmate will be rehabilitated or not. For inmates who passed and entered the rehabilitation program will get a bonus from the ministry against their sentences.

The first bonus, for inmates whose the rest of sentence under two years will be granted parole and conditional leave in class program. Class program means inmate straight home after undergoing rehabilitation or in other words free.

While the second bonus, for those whose jail term remain two to three-year will be proposed for clemency to the president.

Harun kept saying, this is done as a way to overcome the over crowded prison. This is a strategic and targeted program for this year.
