South Kalimantan athletic so far have collected 16 medals at the XVI National Paralympic Games (Peparnas) in Papua.
"During two days match, 6 and 8 November, our athletic athletes have collected 16 medals," said South Kalimantan NPC Chairman Ahmad Firdaus when contacted in Papua, Monday.
Three of the 16 medals, he said, were gold medals, won by Ansyari of F41 class in the shot put with a throwing score of 8.17 meters.
Ansyari won the second gold medal in javelin throwing with a throwing record of 31.91 meters.
The third gold medal was grabbed by Ahmad Fauzi of F37 class in discus throwing with throwing of 33.88 meters.
According to Firdaus, silver medals were won by Fatimah of F37 class in javelin throwing, Ahmad Jazuli in the discus throwing, Amalia Nilam Tiara of T12 class in jump run, and Yahya of F44 class in the discus throwing.
"The nine bronze medals were won in jump running, discus throwing, and wheelchair races," he said.

Firdaus said that the athletic has fought tremendously, although they grabbed not many gold medals, only three.
"But we are sure in the next day athletic will add another gold medal," he said.
So far, South Kalimantan NPC contingent has collected 8 gold medals, three from athletic, three from swimming, and one medal each from badminton and archery.
It also has won 6 silver medals, namely 4 from athletic, and 1 medal each from judo and swimming.
South Kalimantan has also collected 13 bronze medals, namely 9 from athletic, 3 from swimming, and 1 from judo.
