Balangan District won the 2021 certificate of appreciation in guiding climate village program (Proklim) at the district/city level from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (LHK).
Acting Secretary of Balangan Yuliansyah expressed his gratitude and hoped that the appreciation will motivate the district to intensify its efforts in the program related to climate change control.
"We are very grateful for the appreciation presented to Balangan, this is due to the district government's consistency to boost the ProKlim that we keep applying," said Yuliansyah in Paringin, Tuesday.
ProKlim itself, he said, is an activity to provide understanding and insight to the public about climate change by taking real action, adaptation, and mitigation in dealing with the climate variability and the impact of climate change.
Head of the Balangan Environment Agency Musa Abdullah said that the winning of the appreciation could not be separated from the good synergy working units from the community, head of sub-district, head of the urban village, and head of the village. So that the development of climate village can be further improved.
"We hope to continue to synergize with the private sector and related government agencies to carry out the development of the climate village program," he said.
The agency, he said, will develop 10 climate villages, nine of which are already registered in the national registration system.
