Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor said cycling can be a means of maintaining health and increasing immunity because it is healthy and exciting.

When riding gowes bicycle with heads of the provincial government working units (SKPD) Sahbirin said gowes is an exciting sport to maintain health as well as increasing immunity, especially during this pandemic.

"Diligently exercise will be healthier both physically and spiritually. If the body is healthy, the brain and mind become healthy. Absolutely it is very necessary to build the region," he said.

Previously, the Governor invited all heads of SKPDs to ride gowes bicycles around the City of Banjarmasin.

Starting from Mahligai Pancasila, the Governor and his entourage cycled across several roads, including Jalan S Parman to Jalan H Hasan Basri, then passing the Sei Alalak bridge, trans Kalimantan, Jalan Cemara. Then the group crossed Jalan Sungai Jingah and finished at Jalan R Suprapto.

The Provincial Secretary of South Kalimantan Roy Rizali Anwar said that riding gowes together was also an effort to bring the entire ranks of the South Kalimantan Provincial Government closer. 

Since the COVID-19 pandemic hits in the last two years, gowes has become a sport that people are interested in.

Various cycling activities are often held by the bicycle communities that grow like mushrooms in South Kalimantan.
