The Banjarmasin Health Agency declared that all areas in the city are now cleared of red zone as it released the COVID-19 distribution area on the sixth week of the enforcement of level 4 public activity restriction(PPKM).
In the previous week, there were still red zones in four neighborhood units (RT), namely in Sungai Miai Urban village and Alalak Utara Urban Village in North Banjarmasin.
Then RT in Telaga Biru Urban Village in West Banjarmasin, and RT in Pemurus Dalam Urban Village in South Banjarmasin.
"The four RTs are no longer red zones," said Head of Health Agency Machli Riyadi here on Monday.
The agency has conducted an internal evaluation meeting on the latest spread of COVID-19 in the city until the sixth week of PPKM level 4 imposed by the central government. The result was the number of COVID-19 cases in Banjarmasin has declined that it is appropriate to go down to level 3 at least.
"This is the result of our evaluation, however, the decision is from the central government to be announced this night for PPKM level 4 outside Java-Bali, including Banjarmasin whether to extend or go down. Let's wait, although we are sure it goes down," he said.
According to him, based on the agency's evaluation there are no red zones in 1,576 RTs in this city.
"The green zones are 1,350 RTs or 85.7 percent, the yellow zones are 222 RTs and orange zones only 4 RTs, while red zones are empty," he said.
He hopes the public to continue to improve the discipline of health protocols to stop the spread of COVID-19. Those who have not been vaccinated should register to the nearest community health center (puskesmas) or take part in a mass vaccination program organized by the city government or TNI-Polri.
"We must continue to increase togetherness to end the transmission of COVID-19, so everything can return to normal," he said.
