Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Kalstar Aviation to add routes to Warukin Airport in Tabalong, South Kalimantan, using ATR-42 aircraft with a capacity of 49 passengers.


Head of Technical Implementation Unit of Warukin of Tabalong Transportation, Communication and Information Agency Ady Fajar in Tanjung on Monday said that route opened is Balikpapan - Tanjung - Banjarmasin.

"Development of flights from Balikpapan route to Tanjung then Banjarmasin is still waiting for permit from the Ministry of Transportation, including the route to Muara Teweh - Palangkaraya and Pangkalanbun," said Ady.

Thes Kalstar route development, said Ady, will be the first step of the operation of the Warukin as become general airport, so that people of "Earth Saraba Kawa" (nickname of Tabalong) can take benefit.

Warukin Airport is the only airport in the region of Banua Anam (upstream South Kalimantan), and ready to serve aircraft type ATR 42 and ATR 72 with a runway length of 1,400 meters.

"The patchwork of runway has been done by PT Adaro Indonesia, while fence repairs and side roads to the village pioneered by PT Pertamina," said Ady.
