Governor H Sahbirin Noor and Deputy Governor H Muhidin proved their strong commitment by quickly moving in efforts to stem COVID-19.

Even though their plane has just landed at the Syamsuddin Noor Airport on Sunday (August 29, 2021) at about 09.45 WITA (Central Indonesia Time), the two immediately took their task to review the main COVID-19 referral hospitals.

Governor H Sahbirin Noor visited Ulin and Anshari Saleh General Hospital in Banjarmasin.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor H Muhidin went to Idaman General Hospital and the public kitchen of Banjarbaru Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD).

Sahbirin Noor on the sideline of his visit at the Ulin said that together with H Muhidin they will immediately work to contain COVID and restore the people's economy.

"We will work for hand in hand and synergize with all government agencies, districts, and cities heads with the main focus on accelerating COVID-19 handling and people's economic recovery," said the Governor who is familiarly called Uncle Birin.

He explained that the purpose of his visit with the deputy governor to a number of hospitals was to ensure that the service for people who were treated at the hospital due to COVID infection was according to the maximum standard of care.

Uncle Birin also visited the Mawar Room of the Ulin Hospital where COVID-19 patients were being treated. He was accompanied by the DPRD speaker, Commander of Military Command of 101 Antasari, head of Prosecutor's Office, head of Health Agency, head of Disaster Mitigation Agency, and other officials.

He asked the hospitals to continue to increase the quality of services and to identify all the obstacles related to the efforts to improve services.

"I would like to thank the medical warriors and nursing staff who have been working their best to help people," he said.

Regarding data on COVID cases, the governor expressed gratitude because the number began to decline, including those who were being treated intensively at the hospitals.

Meanwhile, in a separate place, H Muhidin is also grateful because the bed occupancy rate (BOR) at the Idaman Banjarbaru Hospital has shown a decline. "Alhamdulillah (Thank God) today the occupancy rate of COVID-19 patients at the Idaman Banjarbaru Hospital has decreased to more than 50 percent, initially almost full," he said.

Although the case started to decline, H Muhidin asked the public to remain vigilant about the spread of coronavirus.

H Muhidin also said that the availability of oxygen at the Idaman Hospital is sufficient for the next few days."Alhamdulillah the availability of oxygen is sufficient for the next few days," he said.
