From January to May has been noted that 23 fires occurred in this city, mostly residential, said the Head of Prevention and Preparedness of Agency for Disaster Management and Fire Zuliansyah on Thursday.
 
Sadly, he said, one fire accident took several lives. It was, when fire at a noodle depot on Jalan Piere Tendean, Central Banjarmasin, last February. "Fire accident at Jalan Piere Tendean was the biggest with death casualties of four people," he said.

The recently fire, said Zuliansyah, occurred at the area of ​​Sungai Andai, North Banjarmasin, on May 12, singed two houses.

Last year, 96 fire accidents occurred, one victim died and losses in the tens of billions rupiah.

According to Zuliansyah, fires often caused by human error. Largely due to short circuit electric current, over 50 percent of the

cause of not standard electrical cables installation, the rest other factors, including stoves exploded.
