A husband and wife Ahmad Juliansyah and Arpah Sari Dewi from Muara Ninian Village, Juai Sub-district, became Balangan's representatives in the 2021 Inspiring and Outstanding Young Couple election held by the South Kalimantan Youth and Sports Office.
Ahmad Juliansyah here on Tuesday said the motivation to join in the event was to inspire young couples in the region to always be friends with children, have knowledge about children, and domestic violence (KDRT).
A couple should also have reproductive health, gender equality, as well as adequate management of marital conflicts.
"Being an inspiring couple is certainly our shared dream, and of course we have prepared this well and thoroughly," Juliansyah acknowledged.
Today's presentation in front of the jury team, Alhamdulillah (Thank God) we both did our best. Hopefully, it will be a new lesson, both for our family and for our service in our beloved Balangan District.
Head of Youth Development of the agency Heru Susmianto said the team had visited inspiring couples to see the potential of the prospective participants at the provincial level later.
"The preparations made by the prospective participants from Balangan are marvelous. The preparations are different from other districts we have visited," he said.
"However, we also have seen the potential in each district to later hold an assessment or judging at the provincial level. There will be only six couples in the selection at the provincial level, due to budget constraints," he said.
