Regional Representative Council (DPD) Speaker AA La Nyalla Mahmud Mattalitti mencanangkan the Merdeka Belajar (learning freedom) and Kampus Merdeka (learning freedom at campus) programs while delivering a public lecture at STIE Indonesia Banjarmasin.
La Nyalla carried of the declaration of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud-Ristek) symbolically at the hall of STIE, Monday (May 24, 2021).
He encouraged students to prepare for a comprehensive career through the program as an effort to develop the nation's superior human resources.
“Sharpen your skill according to your skill and interests by going directly to the world of work as preparation for the future career. Then explore knowledge and abilities in the field. Learn and expand networks outside study program or campus of origin, and gain knowledge directly from the quality and reputable partners,” he said.

Chairman of STIE Banjarmasin Dr Yanuar Bachtiar represented by Head of Master of Manajement Program Dr Ibrahim Daud expressed hope to LaNyalla.
“We depend on hope on you to help us facilitate with the central government in the form of grants and facilities, and to support the status of STIE to become a business and technology institute,” he hoped.
Acting Governor Safrizal who also present spoke about South Kalimantan which has abundant of natural resources. He invited all components of society to support increasing the potential through various means, especially due to the corona pandemic, many sectors of the economy were affected.
A number of senators also attended, namely Chairman of DPD's Committee I Fachrul Razi, Deputy Chairman of Committee II Bustami Zainudin, Chairman of Committee III Sylviana Murni, Jialyka Maharani (South Sumatra), Andi Muh Ihsan (South Sulawesi), Habib Ali Alwi (Banten), and Secretary-General of DPD Rahman Hadi.
Four senators from South Kalimantan also accompanied LaNyalla. They were Habib Abdurrahman Bahasyim, Habib Zakaria Bahasyim, Habib Hamid Abdullah, and Gusti Farid Hasan Aman. Gusti Farid is a lecturer at STIE Banjarmasin.
