Regent of Balangan Abdul Hadi together with Head of Balangan Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Alive Yoesfah Love handed over assistance of IDR500 million for places of worship and schools to handle the impact of flood and landslide.

"The assistance was delivered to langgar (small place of worship), madrasah (Islamic schools), foundations, mosques, Al-Qur'an learning centers in four sub-district in Balangan, namely Halong, Juai, Awayan, and Paringin Selatan," said the Regent.

The Head of the BPBD said that the assistance was prioritized for mosques and other places of worship, then for Al-Qur'an learning centers and madrasah.

"The reason is (they) do not have assistance from the central government, so we focus (the assistance) on places of worship and madrasah," he said.

Among the beneficiaries were Langgar Al-Istiqamah, Halong, IDR25 million, MTs (Islamic junior high school) Al-Istiqamah, Halong, IDR50 million, Mts Nurul Falah, Juai, IDR55 million.

Then, Madrasah Aliyah (Islamic high school) Darussalam, Awayan, IDR55 million, and PAUD (early childhood education) Al-Ikhlas, Paringin Selatan, IDR20 million.
