Number of passengers on the Kotabaru-Batulicin ferry operated by the state-owned ferry operator PT Angkutan Sungai Danau dan Penyeberangan (ASDP) for Batulicin branch decreased by about 60 percent.

"Currently the average number of passengers from Batulicin Port to Tanjung Serdang Port, Kotabaru, or vice versa is around 160 per day," said Head of PT ASDP Batulicin branch Masagus Hamdani through Business Manager Akhmad Sunedi here Saturday.

This number includes passengers carrying two-wheeled vehicles and four-wheeled vehicles.

Under normal conditions, PT ASDP transports around 600 people per day, so there is a decrease by about 60 percent.

"Maybe the government's mudik ban has an impact on the number of ferry passengers in Batulicin and Tanjung Serang," he said.

On the other hand, the lack of passengers ahead of Idul Fitri might be an economic factor, as many coal companies in the district are closed.

However, ASDP remains committed to continuing to provide the best service to the public or prospective passengers who will use shipping service.

"We do not consider the number of passengers who use our service, whatever the number we will give the best service for them," said Sunedi.
