Head of Banjarmasin Housing and Residential Area Agency Ahmad Fanani said that the slum area in the city is estimated to increase to around 390 hectares after the revision of the City's Spatial Plan (RTRW).
"(Our) slum area, based on the 2015-2020 slum area management decree, remain around 35 hectares, however the RTRW changes, and what certain is the expand of the residential area," he said here Wednesday.
A Fanani, who attended the Banjarmasin DPRD Commission III meeting in the discussion of the 2020 Mayor's Accountability Statement (LKPJ), revealed his prediction that the slum area has increased to 390 hectares.
"This will be re-identified," said A Fanani.
According to him, the decree on additional slum handling for the next five years will be included in the city without slum program (Kotaku) before the RTRW bylaw is signed.
Whereas the indicators for determining slum areas are seven, namely building irregularities, poor environment roads, no drainage, garbage, wastewater management, clean water, and fire protection.
The handling of the slum, he said, rests on the city's budget (APBD), but can ask for assistance from the provincial or central government.
"Of course, our APBD cannot afford all of them, so it is recommended to ask for assistance from the provincial or central government. So far we synergize," he said.
