Amuntai, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - North Hulu Sungai (HSU) district, South Kalimantan, plans to build a high school plus fisheries to prepare human resources skilled in utilizing local potential.


"High School plus fisheries aims to develop local potential in the form of a fairly extensive wetlands, as well as equip students with specific skills appropriate local content," said Head of SMA 1 Paminggir, Sukiman, through a press release on Tuesday.

He explained that the Paminggir region is dominated by swamp with natural resources such as fisheries, so it is appropriate if the educational institution located here may contribute to develop local potential as well as a medium of learning for students.

As a first step to realizing this goal the SMA 1 Paminggir has built one of the three fish ponds planned for swamp fish farming.

The fish pond was built in the area of swamp land that is not far from the location of the school building. It independently funded by the schools, then some mutual funds from a joint teachers to prepare the fish farming facilities.

"Marsh fish pond management is planned to be submitted to the students as part of extra-curricular activities," he explained.

He really hoped to get the support from the HSU Education Agency in order to materialize plan to build SMA Plus Fisheries in Paminggir.
