The Indonesian Center for Biodiversity Studies and Conservation (Biodiversitas Indonesia) published a book titled "Ragam Jamur Makroskopis" (Variety of Macroscopic Mushroom) at Mekar Lestari Local Fruit Park, Anjir Muara, Barito Kuala District, South Kalimantan Selatan, Saturday.

"The book contains guidelines to the identification of macroscopic mushrooms in Mekar Lestari Local Fruit Park, which is a wetland biodiversity park belonging to Biodiversitas Indonesia," said Chandra Pratama, the head of the book writing team.

Chandra said that the book was written based on the research by the Biodiversitas Indonesia team as a medium of information about macroscopic mushrooms that often found in the surrounding environment.

The book also describes the findings of macroscopic mushroom species and includes a simple guide to easy identification of mushrooms.

He said, in the local fruit garden found 15 species of macroscopic mushrooms that can be seen with naked eyes and are classified into 12 families and 13 genera.

"Certain species that commonly found show a tendency toward their habitat conditions," said the member of Lambung Mangkurat University Young Biology Scientist Forum.

The existence of mushrooms is known to play a very important role in breaking down organic material and recycling nutrients in the soil.

Meanwhile, Ferry F. Hoesain as the founder of Biodiversitas Indonesia hopes that this third edition of the book published by Biodiversitas Indonesia throughout 2020-2021 can contribute to information and knowledge in the country.

"At least about the macroscopic mushrooms in Mekar Lestari," he said.
