The Barito Kuala (Batola) government spokesperson for COVID-19 emergency response dr Hj Azizah Sri Widari reported on Friday (Feb 19, 2021) an increase of 13 COVID-19 positive cases, and nine patients were declared recovered.

She said the fresh cases, all were male, spread in seven sub-districts, namely 4 in Marabahan, 3 in Tamban, 2 in Tabukan, 2 in Alalak, 1 in Mekarsari, 1 in Cerbon, and 1 in Tabunganen. 

While nine recovered patients, mostly women, were from four sub-districts, namely Cerbon 5, Marabahan 2, Anjir Pasar 1, and Rantau Badauh 1. 

“The patients recovered were mostly under the surveillance of the SKB (Learning Activity Center which is turned into a place of quarantine) Marabahan COVID-19 team. One under the sub-district team supervision and one under the surveillance of the Bapelkes (Health Training Center) team,” said Azizah. 

“(While the new positive) patients 12 of them come from close contacts and one suspect. They are now undergoing self-isolation at the respective homes,” she said. 

The addition of fresh cases, Azizah said, brings the total confirmed cases in Bumi Ije Jela (Batola's nickname) to 1,310 consisting of 1,133 recoveries (86.49 percent), died 15 (1.15 percent) and active cases 162 (12.36 percent). 

130 people of active cases are now going through independent isolation, and 32 others are being treated at the hospitals, Bapelkes quarantine, and SKB Marabahan quarantine.
