Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarmasin City Police arrested a young man suspected of circulating counterfeit money with evidence of Rp2.4 million.


He was arrested at Jalan Pangeran Antasari. "When arrested, the perpetrator brought Rp1.8 million counterfeit money," said Criminal Police Wakasat Banjarmasin Hadi AKP Vishnu in his case, on Monday (5/1).

After the case developed, counterfeit currency denomination of 100 thousand gathered into Rp2.4 million. "Plus Rp200 thousand real money," he said.

The perpetrator is known to circulate counterfeit money on public statements, as he paid bills while playing pool at Jalan Pangeran Antasari. 

"He (actor) pay bills for bilyard Rp250 thousand. It turned out the two pieces of banknotes of 100 thousand were falsed, only Rp50 thousand of the original," he said.

In addition, the actors also had rented a car rental with a pay of Rp400 thousand. "Even the fake money was also used to buy handpone for Rp1.2 million," he explained.

The police conducted a raid on his home, and found no counterfeit money. "We are also exploring the possibility of money printer, but not found," he said.

But the actor, said Wisnu, admitted he got the fake money as it inadvertently found in Liang Anggang, Banjarbaru.

When asked by reporters, actor insisted he did not know the money he got was a fake on Wednesday (31/12) at around 16.00 pm at Jalan Liang Anggang.
