It recognized by an iron craftsman under the Banua Anyar Bridge or at estuary of Sungai Andai, Amat (55 years) to Antaranews who met him at his place of business on Saturday.

According to Amat, many artisans who leave the business as he struggled, due to lack of public interest in ordering a kitchen knife, machete, or other sharp objects.

The problem is now increasingly mushrooming sales of kitchen knives, machetes, farm implements, and sharp objects made of iron on the market, a wide range of products sold in supermarkets and even in the mall.

Moreover, factory rated higher quality product with a more attractive with affordable prices, so there is a tendency for people to buy a product more than to be booked at the blacksmith.

As a result, many blacksmith crafters diverted efforts to other more promising fields.

Amat admitted he gained a blacksmith's expertise from his father. However he was grateful, as many blacksmiths are closed, eventually he can still receive orders from people who are still loyal to hand processed knife and machete.
