Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Responding to the challenges of AFTA and AEC 2015, Polytechnic Banjarmasin will form the first Professional Certification Institute in Kalimantan to fortify local professional workforce.

"This institution is a must to face the challenges of AFTA and AEC 2015," said Reza Abdi Fajar, Deputy Director 1 of Polytechnic Banjarmasin who is also the head of the formation project in the Professional Certification Institute, Thursday (27/11).

The formation of the LSP is planned no later than June 2015. This LSP includes two courses, namely Heavy Equipment and Mining Technique. Certification issued received recognition from the National Board for Professional Certification (BNSP) center.

"Not too late for Polytechnic Banjarmasin to prepare LSP to face global competition and with such certification can improve the welfare of workers," said Darmawani, Director Polytechnic Banjarmasin.

It does not rule out in the coming years foreign workers increasingly widespread in South Kalimantan with recognized certification in the world of business. So do not let the local workforce just be a spectator and not the leading actor.

"Competence Index Indonesia in 2013 according to data from the World Economic Forum ranks 50th, far below Singapore (2), Malaysia (20) and Thailand (30)," said Utami Widiasih, Commissioner of BNSP center in her presentation entitled Building Competencies Facing AFTA 2015 in Polytechnic Banjarmasin hall.
