Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Ministry of Transportation asked South Kalimantan regional terminal on Jalan A Yani Kilometer 17, subdistricts Gambut, Banjar District, to be immediately operated.


Head of South Kalimantan Transportation, Communication and Information Agency (Dishubkominfo) Haris Karno in Banjarmasin on Sunday said the call was delivered during his agency consultation to the ministry recently.

"Indeed we must immediately operate regional terminal in Km 17," he said on the sidelines of weddings of (Head of Regional Investment Coordinating Board) Hj Herlenasabarniati Arifin's son.

However, the former Chief of Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) not mention, when will be the operation of the regional terminal that it construction had long been finished.

He said the operation of the terminal type A South Kalimantan, especially for public intercity interprovincial (AKAP) bus.

"It's (operation to make) easier for the Banjarmasin main terminal arrangement on Jalan A Yani Km 6 and to reduce traffic congestion," he replied Antaranews Kalsel.

"Isn't itu already crowded with a variety of public passenger transport, both public minivans (angkot) and intercity transportation in the province (AKDP) and AKAP," he said.

Regarding the main terminal Km 6 Banjarmasin, he stated, it still serves as a terminal. "While the arrangement depends on the policy of the Government of Banjarmasin," said Haris Karno.

The regional terminal construction with financing sharing between the Ministry of Transport with the provincial government and district government Banjar.
