South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Regent H. Achmad Fikry and Deputy Regent Syamsuri Arsyad harvested pangasius fish and sowed tilapia seeds into the net cages of Sumber Rejeki Fish Farmers Group (Pokdakan) in Tanah Bangkang Village, Sungai Raya Sub-district.
All of 22 net cages owned by the fish cultivators group, said one of its members, M Noor, were of the assistance of the HSS Fisheries Office.
“Pangasius seeds were raised for about five months until they can be harvested. Each net cage produces an average of 125 kilograms with the size of fish reaching 500 gram per fish," he said, Thursday (26/11).
By seeing the existing potential, with river water source almost neer dry out, he hopes in the future there will be additional capital assistance from the government to the pokdakan.
