Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) III Branch Banjarmasin handed over education facility in the form of table and chairs for secondary high school, MTs Batutangga, in Mount Meratus.


General Manager of PT Pelindo III Branch Banjarmasin Hengki Jajang Herasmana here on Saturday said that the educational assistance program is one of its "Corporate Social Responsibility" (CSR) in education sector.

"Pelindo is present in Batutangga as part of our commitment to participate in improving the quality of life for people in the field of education in the province of South Kalimantan," he said.

Jajang hopes, this help can be used well to support effective teaching and learning activities as well as facilities for supporting the students in the school.

Tables and chairs worth Rp12 million was symbolically handed over by the Public Relations Supervisor, Bambang Ibn Murjadi, to the Head of MTs Batutangga, Masrifani witnessed by teachers, students and
journalists.

MTs Batutangga is a school built by the community using used materials, such as a perforated zinc with nail marks as a roof. The students learn by sitting on the floor (lesehan). Their access roads in the Subdistrict of Batangalai, Central Hulu Sungai, was hard enough. This prompted the Pelindo to distributing aid.
