Amuntai, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Ministry of Research and Technology will assist the development of electric technology uses a fuel source derived from human feces at boarding school Rashidiyeh Khalidiyah (Rakha) Amuntai, North Hulu Sungai.

"Until the end of 2014, Kemenristek (the ministry) will help the development of power technology using manure of the students in the boarding school. This, as an alternative fuel  to substitue diesel or premium," said Research and Technology Minister Gusti Muhammad Hatta in Amuntai Tuesday.

The minister who is on a working visit in Rakha bringing experts and entrepreneurs who will develop the bioelectric generator hybrid.

Experts from Kemenristek explain generators with a capacity of 5,000 watts or 5 kVA can be operated by using more than one type of fuel (hybrid), also uses renewable fuel, such as biogas and bioethanol.

The genset developed by Kemenristek to anticipate trend of increasingly depletion of the not renewable fuel supply , such as gasoline and diesel, while the price is also more expensive due to the elimination of fuel subsidies gradually by government.

The visit the of minister is to begin technology incubation at Rakha as well as to handover water purification "IGW Water Filter" which uses membrane technology ultrafiltration developed by researchers from Bandung Institute of Technology.
