Banjarmasin, Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Banjarmasin City Resort Police for the last five months have arrested about 500 drunk.
Head of Sabhara Unit, Kompol MT Haryono said on Tuesday, hundreds of drunk were arrested in raid called Operasi Pekat (raid to combat immortal behavior) .
"In only five months, we continuously carried operation, especially to net drunkard or liquor (known here as miras) drinkers about 500 people have been caught," he said.
He added, miras drinkers who netted in a month at least 80 people. "The average ten drunkard netted in every operation," he said.
Drunkard netted while party in the general environment, such as in front of the aisle, in the Taman Siring (embankment of Martapura River), on Jalan RE Martadinata, Jalan Sudirman and Jalan Piare Tendean. "Many were netted on the protocol streets," he recalled.
Most of them drank oplosan called Aldo (alcohol doang). "They usually mixed alcohol with energy drinks," he said.
Over the years, Banjarmasin Police continues to raid sale of Miras or alcohol abuse. The result was not only miras, but a lot of medical goods seized and the owner handed over to the court.
He admits more local constabulary duties to combat alcohol abuse, namely the direct supervision of circulation. However, he added, so far the law for Miras is very light to drinker. As a result, most of the actors even have been arrested several times.
