The district government of Barito Kuala (Batola) continued to make an improvement to be child-friendly district. One of which by working with companies.

The Batola Population Control, Family Planning, women Empowerment, and Child Protection Office (DPPKBP3A) has formed the Batola Association of Child-Friendly Companies (APSAI).

The Batola APSAI, which was officially formed through the decree of the head of DPPKBP3A Hj Harliani as of April 6, 2020, was a forum of synergy and acceleration effort of child protection, especially to ensure the participation of the private sector. 

However, the COVID-19 outbreak had hampered the association movement, until finally the first board meeting was held at the Tosoto stall, Marabahan, Monday. 

Head of Marabahan branch of Bank Kalsel Akhmad Fauzi Noor as chairman of APSAI, Head of DPPKBP3A Hj Harliani, Head of Batola government PR and Protocol Hery Sasmita, representative of Batola Office of Religious Affairs Ministry Syamsuri, representative of the Batola chapter of Indonesian Mosque Council and entrepreneurs attended the meeting. 

Akhmad Fauzi Noor said, 16 companies joined the APSAI as members.

He said, the first program to be implemented was to realize a child-friendly mosque, namely by providing chid playground, a breastfeeding room, and wheelchair access for people with disabilities, that God Willing to begin before 2020 ends. 

There are two mosques targeted to be pilots, Al-Anwar and At-Taqwa Marabahan. Although it may change, because it is still being discussed further.

Head of DPPKBP3A Hj Harliani welcomed the planned program. She said Batola is now at the rank of 12 among child-friendly districts in South Kalimantan.

“To realize a child-friendly district, of course, we need the support of other parties, such as entrepreneurs through this APSAI forum,” said the former head of Batola Library and Archive Agency.
