Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Banjarmasin City Government through the Local Environment Agency (BLHD) will immediately identify the quality of land in this city.


Head of Banjarmasin BLHD, H Hamdi, told reporters on Sunday that the identification of quality of soil to determine the structure of the soil in the region.

Bio-mass land portrait program or land identification has been tendered to the third party, and is expected to close existing time winner, so that the program could be implemented.

According to him, knowing the quality of the soil is very important. So they can know which one is the ideal region to be a residential area, or there is still land that is able to be maintained as an agricultural region.

"Identification is the main objective to determine the level of ground potential and feasibility of land. Alternatively find out how much the level and pollution source," he added.

As far he Knew, there is still land in the city area of approximately 90 square kilometers which fertile or able to be used as agricultural land. He pointed to the outskirts of the Subdistricts of East, South and North Banjarmsin, as fertilite.

Meanwhile, for the urban soil quality has not been done due diligence. Thus, the presence of bio portrait can be known which areas will be maintained for agricultural potential.

Hamdi added, in addition to soil quality, his agency had previously been measuring air quality and water quality.

By measuring the feasibility of the three elements of water, soil, and air that will be used as the basis for determining the direction of development and the development potential of Banjarmasin as a reference in the preparation of the Long Term Development Plan (RPJMD).
