Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - A total of 18 returnees declared killed in traffic accidents in South Kalimantan Lebaran mudik flow back. 


South Kalimantan Police Chief Brigjen Machfud Arifin through KA Post Ops "Ketupat 2014" South Kalimantan Police Kompol Tri Menti Sap, Map reveals, the number of accidents that claimed the lives of as many as 18 people were counted from July 22 until August 1. "Traffic accidents dominated by the two-wheelers," he said on Thursday. 

He said the number of traffic accidents along the flow of Lebaran this year as many as 23 events. The number of accidents resulting in fatalities 14 times with the victim's death 18 people, the total of 9 people injured and 20 victims with minor injuries. 

"Most accidents in the path towards Tanah Laut and Tanah Bumbu, namely 10 traffic accidents with 10 fatalities as well," he said. 

Although the number of victims of traffic accidents on this Eid season spelled almost reached the 20s, Tri Menti said, that number has been greatly decreased when compared to the previous year.
