Banjarmasin River Traffic Safe

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - River traffic or water jurisdiction of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, in the atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr 1435 AH is safe, smooth and controlled until D+3. 

Chief of Water Police Unit of Banjarmasin City Resort Police AKP Untung Wibowo reveal the state of river or water traffic in the capital city of South Kalimantan on Thursday. 

"Thank God, in an atmosphere of Eid 1435 H to D+3 there is hardly any events that we do not want, such as a traffic accident in the waters or river transport in entire region of Banjarmasin," he said. 

He hopes the water transport traffic in the region remain in a state of safe, smooth and controlled, especially for the mudik (homebound) flow of travelers and the reverse for Eid 1435 H. Then the travelers can get to destination and regroup with family safely, so do when they return. 

"We all certainly do not want such incident of river crossings transport in Kapuas, Central Kalimantan a few days ago," he said. 

"Therefore, in an early anticipation Banjarmasin Water Police with related parties are always monitoring the water transport, including when crossing," said Untung. 

As known, on Tuesday (29/7) a ferry vessel named Berkah Bersaudara on its way from Panamas to Kapuas, Central Kalimantan, drowning at the Kapuas River. A total of 15 passengers were confirmed dead drowned.
