Banjarmasin, (AntaranewsKalsel) - Regional Water Company (PDAM) Bandarmasih, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, is trying to suppress the rate of water loss up to 20 percent. 


Director of PDAM Bandarmasih Ir Muslih said to the press in Banjarmasin on Sunday, the target water loses 20 percent . 

Loss of PDAM Bandarmasih are now perceived reached 29 percent is considered very large and detrimental to the company. 

In order to suppress the rate of water loss, efforts are undertaken by companies, among others the installation of Pressure Reducing Volve (PRV) in the customer's area in order to control the block automatically. 

"Installation of water volume control or PRV to avoid termination of the distribution as a whole, if an area had to shut down due to leaking pipeline repairation," said Muslih. 

He said the installation of PRV is a knowledge gained from studying to South Korea, a few years ago. 

Bandarmasih taps are now able to serve nearly 100 percent of the urban population by the number of customers 140 thousand connections.
