Barabai, (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Central Hulu Sungai Environmental Management Agency (BPLH) make use of waste for alternatives energy that can be utilizeded by communities for cooking and other activities. 


HST BPLH head, H. Akhmad Tamzi, in Barabai on Monday, said BPLH now continues to maximize waste management of landfills (TPA), in the village of Telang, Subdistrict Batara. 

"Local governments continue to complement a variety of technologies and facilities to convert waste into alternative energy, so that the management of waste in the landfill could be the maximum," he said. 

According to Akhmad, Telang landfill covering an area of ​​9.067 hectare is now equipped with a weighbridge, truck washing, heavy equipment garages, also home compost bins in which there is a garbage bank. 

The garbage bank is strengthening the seven other garbage banks scattered in the HST. 

"Trash turned out to have enormous benefits for alternative energy in the form of fuel. And the utilization of biogas, which is produced by the trash in a landfill, is already implemented by HST," he said. 

Telang maximize the utilization of landfill methane in five points distributed to several public houses around the neighborhood of Telang landfill.
