Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Banjarmasin Resort Police now very intensively guarding local gold trade areas in this city.
This is a security measure to prevent gold shop specialist robbery, said Police Chief Comr Suharyono through Head of Operation Commissioner Koko Andrew Prabowo. In this year it had twice gold robbery. First in Angkasa gold shop at Ujung Murung Market, last January. Second in Arrafah gold shop in Kalindo Market, Belitung, last June.
Two events robbery using a firearm that had caused casualties. Especially at a gold store in Kalindo which killed two people and critically injured three others, because of robbers shot.
The two cases of robbery have been solved and some perpetrators were arrested. However it becomes a bad record for security of this area that it has not to happen again.
"So we hope that this incident should not happen again, until we intensify patrol members, particularly in the (gold trading area) and also supervise crowded places," said Koko.
In addition to gold shops, banks and ATMs also offices areas have intensive police surveillance. Special ahead of the presidential election, members of the patrol equipped with firearm. "Because of this time is in a full alert (siaga satu)," he said./e
