Nine hospitals in South Kalimantan took part in training on the use of COVENT-20 ventilator provided by Adaro Group in collaboration with the University of Indonesia (UI). 

The two sessions of training, which was opened by Adaro Energy's CSR Manager Zuraida Murdia Hamdie on Saturday (July 25, 2020) were guided by Indra Gunawan from Poltekkes Jakarta.

The nine hospitals following the training were Bhayangkara Hospital Banjarmasin, Banjarbaru's Idaman Hospital, the Tabalong COVID-19 Isolation Unit, Pambalah Batung Hospital of North Hulu Sungai, Tapin's Datu Sanggul Hospital, HST's H Damanhuri Hospital, HSS's H. Hasan Basri Hospital, HSS's Daha Sejahtera Hospital, and Tanah Bumbu's Andi Abdurahman Hospital.

All the hospitals took part in the training had received COVENT-20 ventilators as assistance from Adaro Group.

According to Zuraida, as part of the community, Adaro should make its contribution in the handling of COVID-19, especially now that South Kalimantan is being tested with a number of patient continue to increase.

"We should be proud that the health devices that will be used are the work of the youth of the nation, our brothers from UI Engineering Faculty," she said.

Zuraida hoped COVENT-20 ventilator can provide benefits in treating COVID-19 patients, even for areas far from access of referral hospital, because it is portable can be used in ambulances.
 
Director of Daha Sejahtera Hospital from HSS, dr. Masliani said the training was very helpful for the hospital in using COVENT-20 ventilator. Eventhough it held online, but the directions given were quite clear.

"Adaro assistance is very useful amid the limitations of the device we have and this ventilator as an effort to improve service to patients," Masliani explained.
