Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - General Manager of PT PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan, Mursalin, said PLN would not do a power outage during the month of Ramadan.


"Not only during Ramadan, another month we seek no power outages because it adverses customers," said the regional head of the state owned company.

He said the company continues to maintain the reliability of the Barito Electrical System which oversees the two provinces, so there is no planned power outages, especially during the month of Ramadan.

He explained, the main energy source of the Electrical System Barito comes from steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) Asam-Asam with a capacity of 4x65 megawatts (MW) and Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP) Riam Kanan.

"Other energy sources are Trisakti Gas Power Plant and Diesel Power Plant which spread in both South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan through operations on a lease," he said.

Overall electrical power Electrical System Barito reached 470 MW, while the peak power consumption as much as 450 MW evening, so there is a backup electrical power of 30 MW.

"Backup power was relatively small, so we seek no interruption in the transmission network Barito Electrical System supplies power to customers in order to remain normal and smooth," he said.
