Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - South Kalimantan Provincial Secretary (Sekda) requested that the regional environmental agency give warning to the owner of the red soil fleet carrier that crosses the province road due to damaged roads.

According to the Secretary, when out of the red soil taking sites around Lingkar Selatan, most of the red soil sticking to truck tires. Then when crossing the street , the red dirt sticks to the asphalt road.

" The red soil sticking up several kilometers of asphalt evenly. Consequently when dry, red soil is chipped and peeling asphalt," he said  in Banjarmasin on Thursday.

As a result, the initially smooth road , eventually became hollow and popping rocks until asphalt road completely broken.

In addition to the Lingkar Selatan, the same condition also occurs in Ahmad Yani Street, and several other provincial roads.

The red soil is transported from the dredging site to the location of the backfill area warehousing construction and development of houses and shops in several locations in the city of Banjarmasin .

"I hope BLHD can coordinate with districts and municipalities to check the companies' licensing (UPL/UKL), " he said .

He hope BLHD (environmental agency) soon to discuss coordinating the relevant regulations of the red soil transport activity, for example, before exiting the project site, truck tires must be in pristine condition. Thus, there is no red dirt stuck to truck tires, which in turn could damage the road.

"Quite a long road that crossed by the trucks, so the damage is also quite a lot and road maintenance costs become very expensive," he said.

According to Arsyadi, development activities in several countries, none of which made its way damaged or dirty, as they implement the rules. Every exit from the location of the project land, car tires in immaculate condition, among others sprayed when going into a paved road.

Head of South Kalimantan BLHD M iklas said he immediately coordinated with county and city governments as well as with the relevant agencies, to discuss the issue.
