Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan ( Antaranews ) - PT Pelindo Branch III Banjarmasin Management launched a program of green and clean modern ports in the event which was attended by all port stakeholders on Wednesday.
General Manager of PT Pelindo III Branch Banjarmasin, Hengki Jajang Herasmana, explain this is a celebration for completion of the container dock along 265 M x 34.5 m by contractors PT Wijaya Karya which began on 13 April 2012 and ready to be operationalized.
The port, which was inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the opening of the MP3EI project in Banjarbaru October 23, 2013 , to increase the capacity of services. If previous IPCs can receive 2 moorings , so now grow to 3 moorings , thus increasing the potential number of ship visits 29 of the original 159 call call every month .
In addition, Pelindo III improve the operation of the environmental control efforts by providing road sweeper and fire car. Street sweeper car branded Duelvo 200 Quatro able to clean the dirt like leaves, dust, paper, gravel with area of 78,000 m2 per hour.
Modern theme, green and clean port promoted as management commitment towards environmentally sound port as mentioned in Act 17 of 2008 on Shipping.
While offering new fleet of fire engines fire trucks were there, so as to achieve 2 units on standby to assist the operational process also carries the risk of fire to help the environment.
APBMI Chairman, Jumadri Masrun, appreciate Pelindo consistency in environmental management. With the addition of these facilities, ship waiting time can be further reduced. Being clean and dust-free environment, thereby increasing the comfort of the work in the Port of Banjarmasin.
