Banjarmasin City Task Force for the Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling held a mass rapid test in six traditional markets simultaneously on Saturday, the result was 129 people were detected reactive.


The Task Force spokesperson Dr. Machli Riyadi said, the first point was in Lima Market where 297 people randomized rapid tested, the results were 30 people reactive and 269 non-reactive.

In Sudimampir Market, out of 248 people tested, 21 were found to be reactive and 227 were non-reactive, continuing to the Lokasi Market 205 people were tested, the results were 6 reactive and 199 non-reactive.

Then in the Pekauman Market 186 people were tested, the results were 12 people reactive and 174 nonreactive, next in the Binjai Market 180 people were tested, the results were 30 reactive and 150 non-reactive. The last was the Lama Market, 245 people were tested, the results were 30 reactive, and 215 non-reactive.

As many as 1,500 tools were prepared for mass rapid tests in these six markets.  "A total of 129 people were reactive, and 1,232 people were non-reactive," explained Machli Riyadi.

He calculated, 9.47 percent of reactive from the total people rapidly tested. Nevertheless, the findings of reactive people are not necessarily positive for COVID-19.  "A further examination must be carried out to establish the diagnosis of COVID-19, which is a swab test," he said.

Machli said the swab test is scheduled for next week. depending on the readiness of officers coupled with the previous tracking results in Antasari Sentra Market with as many as 47 people were reactive.

Rapid tests aimed to get as many people without symptoms as possible which outnumber people in monitoring. Thus, a swab check must be carried out to ensure positive or not to COVID-19.

According to him, people who were detected reactive on rapid tests were asked to quarantine themselves.

The public, said Machli Riyadi, asked to remain vigilant of the current condition of the COVID-19 virus outbreak, because up to now 136 people have been confirmed positive with 29 fatalities, while only 19 people have recovered.
