Amuntai, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Youth, Sport and Tourism Agency plans to revive the swamp buffalo contest, as its a leading tourist attraction.
 
"The usual tourist event held in the Lake of Panggang deliberately to be revived along with the local government's determination to make the tour as a superior product," said Head of HSU Youth, Sports and Tourism (Dispopar), Syahrul Rakhmadi here on Thursday. 

It is unfortunate if the quite unique event, and not found in other areas, not to be kept on, while the promotion has reached the national level. Moreover, he said, development of infrastructure, especially roads, which connect the Amuntai city with the Subdistrict Paminggir soon be completed. 

HSU government, Rakhmadi asserts, requires a budget worth Rp2 billion to rehabilitate areas of swamp buffalo race which has been abandoned almost 10 years.
