Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency (BPS) revealed, the value of exports and imports of the province increased in December 2013.

"The value of exports recorded 832.77 million US dollars in December 2013  up 5.92 percent compared to November 2013," said South Kalimantan BPS chief Dyan Pramono Effendy here on Monday.

Similarly, the value of imports of South Kalimantan in December 2013 reached 285.82 million US dollars, up 33.24 
percent compared to November 2013 when it recorded 214.51 million US dollars.

If compared with December 2012, when the export value reached 733.42 million US dollars, then in December 2013 the value rose 13.55 percent.

While the value of imports of South Kalimantan in December 2013 decreased by 12.18 percent when compared to December 2012 when it reached 327.50 million US dollars.

The main contributor to the largest export in December 2013 were mineral fuels with a value of 670.65 million US 
dollars. In addition, groups of fats and oils of animal/vegetable with a value of 108.16 million dollars, as well as groups of ores, slag and ash metals with a value of 31.07 million US dollars.

The main countries of export destination to China in December 2013 with a value of 300.66 million US dollars, 
India 203.05 million US dollars, and Japan 114.79 million US dollars.

While most major commodities imported to South Kalimantan in December 2013 consist of mineral fuels with a value of 259.02 million US dollars.

Then machines/mechanic equipment with a value of 10.10 million US dollars, and fertilizer group with a value of 
5.54 million US dollars, he said in a press conference at the BPS Office of South Kalimantan.

While the main imports supplier countries for South Kalimantan in December 2013 were Singapore with a value of 
162.56 million US dollars, Malaysia 80.34 million US dollars, and Hong Kong 20.87 million dollars.
