Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan ( Antaranews ) - South Kalimantan Provincial Government through the Manpower and Transmigration Agency took 40 companies operating in this area to reduce unemployment.

Head of South Kalimantan Manpower and Transmigration Agency (Disnakertrans) Antonius Simbolon here on Thursday revealed, they cooperated in providing a mass employment opportunities.

"Through "job fairs" held at the University of Lambung Mangkurat on Wednesday and Thursday we opened job opportunities for 2,000 to 2,500 job seekers," he said .

Here job seekers can meet face to face with the work search firm , transact and interviews about various matters relating to the company and the requirements to be accepted.

The 40 companies that took part were mining companies, plantation , services and trade , informatics and other, occupy booth which has been prepared by the committee.

When "job fair" was opened by the Governor of South Kalimantan Rudy Ariffin, directly booth packed with all applicants who wish to enroll in each company.

Unemployment alleviation programs would be the mainstay of South Kalimantan government to tackle the problem of unemployment and provision of employment opportunities. The target no only to people who do not work, but also to people who work in the informal sector.

The agency is currently collecting data on the informal sector or small and medium enterprises engaged in various sectors . Data collection process long enough so that the new motion control could be implemented in 2014 , said Antony.

Based on the data currently recorded by Disnakertrans, there are 217 thousand workers in the informal sector who need coaching, training and even business financing. They include bakso (meatball) merchants, satay and others.
