The Tapin Women Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (DP3A) actively socializes child abuse prevention to schools.

Secretary of the agency Muhammad Nor said nowadays there were a lot of reporting in the media about violence against children not only physically an sexually, but also mentally.

"Such quite a lot of reporting made us concerned and sad. Thereby we actively socialize prevention of violence against children," he remarked.

As seen on Tuesday (Oct 15), the agency and the Child Protection Social Work Unit from the Ministry of Social Affairs performed socialization at the elementary school of SDN Pematang Karangan Hulu in Central Tapin Sub-district.

Noor warned that the violence against children will very impact the growth and psychology of children as the victims. "One of the impact is trauma that results depression and other mental disorders," he pointed out.

He expected the socialization to school will help to suppress and hopefully to erase violence against children in the Tapin District.

Meanwhile, Edy Lukman from the the Child Protection Social Work Unit said such socialization activity is very important. And in Tapin this activity is targetted to be performed in nine elementary schools.

The socialization was attended by all board of teachers and students, also representatives of the Sub-district Office of Central Tapin, and Women and Child Service Unit of Tapin Police.
