Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - During January to July, 102 cases of occupational accidents has been recorded in the city with the highest sector is manufacturing.
     
After inspection to some companies on Thursday, Head of Banjarmasin Labor Agency (Disnaker), Agus Surono, said the level of risk of workplace accidents is quite high here compared to other areas in South Kalimantan.
     
He said, it was triggered by the workers' behavior who are less-aware of safety and security standards (K3) according to the provisions established. And it supported with employer's ignorance to the importance of K3 standard implementation in workplace environment.

"For example, the standard use of gloves is not carried out by reason of heat, while protective footwear is considered heavy and many others," he said.
     
Thus, he said, it need to establish P2K3 to deal with health and safety programs in the company to achieve zero accident sustained.
     
Manpower Supervision Section of Banjarmasin's Disnaker, Purwoko, said accidents here dominated by accidents outside the company, such as  traffic accident from residence to work place or vice versa.
