People who seek treatment at the South Amuntai Community Health Center (Puskesmas) can enjoy a plus service in the form of fruit and jamu (herbal medicine) for free on certain day.
The health center's innovative health promotion program is in the frame work to support the People's Healthy Lifestyle Movement (Germas) launched by the government.
"Our evaluation on fruit eating habit in the community showed it was still low. Some of our health workers then have the initiative to provide fruit on every Tuesday for visitors and patients," head of the South Amuntai Puskesmas Muhammad Yamani told on Friday.
While other employees, he said, had other initiative to serve jamu-jamuan or various herbal medicine on every Thursday.
According to Yamani, the health center's employees and midwives had previously made various innovation. In 2017, for example, the empowered
village cadres to make them role model. In the same year the made a program of controlling pregnant woman taking medicine (Penomil).
In 2018 there was one egg to add nutrition program and enthusiasm to help for work safety (Sembaku saja).
Even, one of Non-permanent staff (PTT) made innovation program for mothers group for nutrition observers (Kiperzi), which was implemented in Telaga Silaba Village, Teluk Baru, and Simpang Empat.

Head of the puskesmas had also launched a program of utilizing local materials in overcoming stunting in South Amuntai in 2018.
The last innovation was applying an online auto applications where patients who come to press the queue screen directly connected online in all poly services.

Infact, several Germas activities organized by the South Amuntai Puskesmas were attended by HSU regent and thousands of participants.
While, some of the South Amuntai Puskesmas innovation won awards in health field in the district and provincial level.
Yamani asserted that all the puskesmas employees, either civil servant or contracted workers, are committed to enhance the acredition category to be a paripurna (meet all requirements).
South Amuntai Puskesmaswas the first to win the accreditation followed by Sungai Karias Puskesmas and Danau Panggang Puskesmas.
