Kotabaru, (Antaranews South Kalimantan) – The Kotabaru Industry, Trade, Small-Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives  Agency subsidizes about 65 street vendors (PKL), by a giving discount Rp600,000 per person of stall rent.
Head of the district Industry, Trade, Small-Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives Agency (Disperindagkop), H Mahyudiansyah, here on Thursday, said actually stall or booth rental is Rp1 million per person, but the street vendors pay only Rp400.000. So there is a subsidy for each street vendors Rp600.000," he explained.

Yudi argued, it was forced to hire a marquee tent to entrepreneurs in Kotabaru Rp1 million per tent. The tent rental charged to the merchants who sell in the vicinity of the construction exhibition June 6 to 15 in Marine Park Siring, Kotabaru. However, to encourage the vendors to be eager to sell at the venue, local governments provide subsidies to about 65 vendors listed in PKL coordinator.

He explained that the subsidy fund is not sourced from the budget, but obtained from merchants rental that is not listed on vendors. "So we provide cross-subsidies, rental yields of most of our regular traders use to subsidize street vendors," he added.

In 2013 exhibition,  Disperindagkop targeting a 25 percent increase in transactions from previous (2012) income of about Rp 6, 2 billion. at least 82 government agencies and non-governmental take part in the development  exhibition.
